Black Diamond

Anthracite is a type coal that is found exclusively here in North Eastern Pennsylvania. Early on  people realized the value of anthracite coal and one of it's  nick names became “Black Diamond”

 

Black Diamond is our version of the dark IPA style also known as Cascadian Dark Ale (CDA)  or Black IPA. To give it it's dark appearance we brew it with chocolate, dark crystal and rye malts. We then hop it with generous portions of columbus, nugget and simcoe hops. The wonderful aroma in this IPA comes from a  dry hop addition of nugget simcoe and cascade hops.
